nz.social is a New Zealand-focused social networking platform operated by TRYZEE LIMITED (Company Number: 8966987, NZBN: 9429051673284), a New Zealand registered company.
By using our service, you agree to comply with New Zealand law and these terms.

By creating an account, accessing, or using nz.social, you agree to:
- Be bound by these Terms of Service and Privacy Policy
- Comply with all applicable New Zealand laws and regulations
- Be at least 13 years of age (or the legal age in your jurisdiction)
- Provide accurate and truthful information
- Maintain the security of your account credentials
If you do not agree to these terms, you must not use nz.social.
3.1 Acceptable Use
You agree to use nz.social in a responsible and lawful manner. You must:
- Respect other users and their rights
- Post content that is truthful and not misleading
- Respect intellectual property rights
- Follow New Zealand laws, including the Harmful Digital Communications Act 2015
3.2 Prohibited Content & Activities
You must NOT post, share, or engage in:
- Harmful Content: Content that harasses, threatens, bullies, or intimidates others
- Hate Speech: Content promoting hatred, discrimination, or violence based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or other protected characteristics
- Illegal Content: Content that violates New Zealand law, including:
- Objectionable material under the Films, Videos, and Publications Classification Act 1993
- Child exploitation material
- Content promoting illegal drugs or activities
- Fraudulent or deceptive content
- Violence & Harm: Content depicting, promoting, or glorifying violence, self-harm, or harm to others
- Sexual Content: Explicit sexual content, pornography, or sexual exploitation
- Spam & Scams: Unsolicited commercial content, pyramid schemes, or fraudulent activities
- Misinformation: Deliberately false information that could cause serious harm
- Copyright Infringement: Content that violates others' intellectual property rights
- Privacy Violations: Sharing others' private information without consent
- Impersonation: Pretending to be someone else or misrepresenting your identity
- Platform Manipulation: Using bots, automation, or fake accounts to manipulate the platform
3.3 Consequences of Violations
Violations may result in:
- Content removal
- Account suspension or termination
- Reporting to New Zealand authorities where required by law
- Legal action in serious cases
4.1 Information We Collect
We collect and process the following information in accordance with the Privacy Act 2020:
- Account Information: Username, email address, password (encrypted)
- Profile Information: Display name, bio, profile picture, location (if provided)
- Content: Posts, comments, messages, photos, and other content you create
- Usage Data: How you interact with the platform, features used, pages visited
- Technical Data: IP address, browser type, device information, cookies
- Google OAuth Data: If you sign in with Google: name, email, profile picture
4.2 How We Use Your Information
Your information is used to:
- Provide and improve our services
- Enable social features (friends, groups, messaging)
- Moderate content and enforce our terms
- Communicate with you about your account
- Comply with legal obligations
- Protect against fraud and abuse
4.3 Data Storage & Security
- Storage Location: Your data is stored on servers located in New Zealand and/or Australia
- Security: We use industry-standard encryption (HTTPS/SSL) and security practices
- Third-Party Services: We use Google OAuth for authentication (subject to Google's privacy policy)
- Bot Protection: We use Cloudflare Turnstile to protect against automated abuse. This service may collect browser information and interaction data to verify you are human. See Cloudflare's Privacy Policy
- Retention: We retain your data while your account is active and for 90 days after deletion
4.4 Data Sharing
We do NOT sell your personal information.
We may share data:
- With other users (public posts, profile information)
- When required by New Zealand law or legal process
- To protect our rights, safety, or property
- With service providers (hosting, email) under strict confidentiality agreements
4.5 Cookies & Tracking

5.1 Your Content Rights
You retain ownership of content you post. By posting content, you grant nz.social a non-exclusive, worldwide license to:

5.2 Content Responsibility
You are solely responsible for content you post. We are not responsible for user-generated content but reserve the right to remove content that violates these terms.
6.1 Trade Usage
The marketplace allows users to list items for sale. By using the marketplace:
- You agree to list only items you legally own or have permission to sell
- You must provide accurate descriptions and pricing
- You are responsible for completing transactions with buyers
- You must comply with New Zealand consumer and commerce laws
6.2 Prohibited Trade Items
You must NOT list:
- Illegal items (weapons, drugs, stolen goods, etc.)
- Counterfeit or infringing items
- Adult content or services
- Live animals (except through licensed sellers)
- Items that violate export/import laws
- Misleading or fraudulent listings
6.3 Trade Disclaimer
nz.social is a platform only. We:
- Do NOT facilitate payments or shipping
- Are NOT a party to transactions between users
- Do NOT guarantee item quality, safety, or legality
- Recommend meeting in safe public places for transactions
Note: Listings expire after 30 days and must be renewed.
Under the Privacy Act 2020, you have the right to:
- Access: Request a copy of your personal information
- Correction: Request correction of inaccurate information
- Deletion: Request deletion of your account and data
- Portability: Request your data in a portable format
- Objection: Object to certain data processing
- Complaint: Lodge a complaint with the Privacy Commissioner

8.1 Termination by You
You may delete your account at any time. Upon deletion:
- Your profile and posts will be removed
- Some data may be retained for 90 days for legal/technical reasons
- Public posts may remain in caches or backups temporarily
8.2 Termination by Us
We may suspend or terminate your account if you:
- Violate these terms
- Engage in illegal activity
- Pose a safety or security risk
- Repeatedly post prohibited content
nz.social is provided "as is" without warranties.
To the maximum extent permitted by New Zealand law:
- We are not liable for user-generated content
- We are not liable for third-party actions or content
- We are not liable for service interruptions or data loss
- We are not liable for damages arising from platform use
Note: Nothing in these terms excludes liability for death, personal injury, or fraud under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 and Fair Trading Act 1986.
We may update these terms from time to time. Changes will be:
- Posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date
- Notified via email for material changes
- Effective 30 days after posting (or immediately for legal requirements)
Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
11.1 Our Intellectual Property
The nz.social name, logo, and all original content, features, and functionality are owned by TRYZEE LIMITED and are protected by New Zealand and international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
11.2 Reporting Copyright Infringement
We respect intellectual property rights and expect our users to do the same. If you believe content on nz.social infringes your copyright, please submit a notice containing:
- Your contact information (name, address, email, phone number)
- A description of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed
- The URL or location of the allegedly infringing content on nz.social
- A statement that you have a good faith belief the use is not authorised by the copyright owner
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorised to act on their behalf
- Your physical or electronic signature

11.3 Counter-Notice
If you believe your content was removed in error, you may submit a counter-notice containing:
- Your contact information
- Identification of the content that was removed and its former location
- A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good faith belief the content was removed by mistake or misidentification
- A statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the New Zealand courts
- Your physical or electronic signature
11.4 Repeat Infringers
We may terminate the accounts of users who repeatedly infringe copyright or other intellectual property rights.

Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of New Zealand courts.
